Dental Implants

dental implants in Liverpool

Dental implants are one of dentistry's most sought after treatments and are an advanced and highly effective way of replacing missing teeth. Missing teeth can change the look and appearance of your smile and may also affect your overall confidence, but our Liverpool dental implant clinic can now give your smile the sparkle it has lost. A dental implant is one solution and has the appearance of a normal, natural tooth meaning that your smile will maintain a natural look.

Aesthetic reasons aren't the only factor when replacing a missing tooth as gaps can cause bite problems, which can affect both your speech and your ability to eat properly.  There's more information below about the problems that can arise if you don't replace missing teeth!

What are dental implants?

Dental implants are composed of fine titanium ro15ds, which replace the root of the damaged or missing tooth. The next step is to fix the implant into a pre-drilled socket in the jawbone. Crowns, dentures or dental bridges are then attached once the implant has settled leaving you with a perfect, stable smile.

With dental implants you will be able to eat whatever you want without any affect to your speech as they behave as a normal tooth would.

No harm will come to the surrounding healthy gum tissue and the titanium implant will easily settle into the socket. It is these benefits that have made dental implants Liverpool a favourite among our patients.

Dental implants can also be used as part of a smile makeover to restore your smile.

Dental implants and dentures

Dental implants are also an effective way of supporting dentures, acting as a strong anchor and increasing their stability. This means that the denture wearing can eat whatever they want and need never fear their dentures coming loose again within their day-to-day life.

A dental implant consists of a titanium post which is placed in the jaw and integrates with the bone. Afterwards a crown is placed on the implant so it looks and functions just like a real tooth and it is the best option available today in terms of a like for like tooth replacement. Dr Peter Doyle is highly skilled in placing dental implants and tends to carry out the treatment here.

What happens if I decide not to replace missing teeth?

Your natural teeth are in fine balance with one another, each tooth supports the tooth next to it and also provides reciprocation to the tooth opposite. If the truth is lost then the opposing tooth can begin to drift down or up into the gap, the adjacent teeth can also begin to tilt and lean into the space.

Dental implants can also help to prevent bone loss which is natural after a tooth is taken out.

This is why dental implant surgery is good for your oral health and long-term dental fitness.

Dental implants Liverpool prices

Replacing missing teeth from as low as £1.36 per day

The price of dental implants will vary depending on the number of implants required and if you require additional treatments such as bone grafting (to build out and add to your existing bone). let's look at a few comparisons and the costs to replace one tooth:

  • Dentures vary between £300-£600 for partials or £950 for a full denture
  • Bridge - as we need to suspend the new tooth from the adjacent teeth this often involves making 3 new teeth, so at £650 per tooth this solution is from £1950
  • Implant - overall this often works out as the best option from £2,100 per tooth

However, if you needed to replace 4 missing teeth the price increases incrementally for example.

  • You would probably only need 2 implants - at around £1500 each, so £3000 in total.
  • You would then need to have 4 teeth placed on top - this would be £650 per tooth, so 2600

The total would be approximately £5600, bringing the cost per tooth down to £1400.

This principle of using fewer dental implants to replace more teeth continues and very often the more teeth you have replaced, the cheaper each tooth becomes.

There are also finance options available and members of the practice will also enjoy up to 20% discount on treatments. This means, to replace a single tooth could cost from as little as £1.36 per day!

Representative example: Treatment cost: £2100, deposit: £100. Amount financed: £2000. Payable by 60 monthly payments of £41.98. Total amount payable: ££2519.04. Representative APR 9.9%.
