Maintaining healthy teeth and gums starts with regular professional care. At Crosby Dental, our hygiene appointments in Crosby are designed to prevent gum disease, remove plaque buildup, and support long term oral health.
Gum disease is one of the most common oral health conditions in the UK, yet many patients are unaware they have early symptoms. Routine hygiene visits allow early intervention and personalised advice tailored to your needs. Our Dental Therapist will guide you through an effective home care routine and provide practical tips to protect your teeth and gums between visits.
If you are a member of our Practice Plan, two hygiene visits per year are included.

We often get asked many questions about our treatments, so here are a few of those common questions and answers:
• Brush twice a day for 2 minutes (morning and before bed) with fluoride toothpaste.
• Children up to the age of 7 years should be assisted with their brushing.
• Manual tooth brush: angle the bristles at 45̊ against the gum and gently sweep back and forth removing plaque. This should include inside and outside of the teeth, and the biting surfaces.
• Electric tooth brush: angle the bristles towards the gum. Slowly rotate the toothbrush back and forth to get into the gaps between the teeth – do not scrub. Work your way around all surfaces of the teeth.
• Floss or use Tepe brushes daily – for more information on technique ask one of our Hygienist Therapists.
Each of our dentists bring their own set of skills to the dental suite.
